God gave Israel land – 1400 BC
God sent Israel into captivity – 586 BC
God brought Israel back to their homeland – 536 BC
Three returns of the Jews from Babylon:
- 536 BC – under Zerubbabel, about 50,000 returned
- 458 BC – under Ezra, about 1800 returned
- 444 BC – Nehemiah returned to rebuild and fortify walls of Jerusalem

Jeremiah 23:5-6: “The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land. In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: he Lord Our Righteous Savior. Â
Jeremiah is writing this 600 years before Jesus’ birth! God does what He says He’s gonna do!
