When God says “Have no other gods before me,” He isn’t saying no other gods ahead of me. He means no other gods in my presence.

When the covenant has been broken, the first thing God wants is for us to see our sin.
When someone or something replaces the Lord God in the position of glory in our lives, then that person or thing, by definition, has become our god.
