Coronavirus Update from Staff on March 16

Coronavirus Update from Staff on March 16

Update on Monday, March 16 –

Our situation seems to change by the hour these days. In fact, we have already rewritten this email once as new recommendations continue to be released by our city, state and federal government. Our president has asked for no gatherings of more than 10 people, and our school districts have closed until April 3 in just the course of a few hours.

To follow these new recommendation, our small groups with more than 10 people will need to consider alternate meeting options for at least the next 15 days. We will be sending out some ideas/options in the coming days.

We know many of you have concerns about your job situation, financial situation and health situation. A few weeks ago, Wayne reminded us from Daniel 7-8 that God is with you in the chaos, and He is sovereign over the chaos. We’re praying for God’s peace to overwhelm your fears and praying that He will work for good through this. Please know that we have prayed for you today!

How to be the church and to support the church during this time of social distancing

First, we can show up for one another! If you know of a need or have a need yourself in the coming weeks, you can let us know by heading to or by texting CARE to 417-233-1200.

We know many of you need to take extra precautions when it comes to social distancing. We also know that some of our young adults and college students (along with others) may be able to help serve our older generations and families during this time. If you are available to help with grocery runs or medication pickups, let us know by heading to or by texting CARE to 417-233-1200.

Second, we can pray! Every Monday a prayer post will go up on our Facebook page. You can share your prayer needs there, and then pray through the comments for other people. You can also email with your need or to be added to our prayer email list.

Third, we can give! As you are able, make an intentional effort to give financially to Northside to help us stay on mission during this season. We will continue to use these resources to reach people for Jesus. You can give online, by texting your gift amount to 417-233-1200 or by check (drop it by the church office or mail to 4902 N. State Hwy H, Springfield, MO 65803). All our giving options are outlined on our Giving page.

How to connect with the Northside family

We encourage you to follow our social media accounts –¬†Facebook,¬†Instagram,¬†YouTube¬†and¬†Twitter¬†– to get updates from our church.¬†

Engage with your friends and encourage others with words that are faith-filled and seasoned with salt.

Worship with us every Sunday online! This Sunday we are moving to ONE live online service at 10:15 a.m. You can watch on our YouTube Channel or Facebook Live. Share our services with your friends as a way to virtually invite them to church.

We are thankful for you, Northside. We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we figure out how to best navigate these uncommon times. There’s no playbook for this, but we know God is with us!
